Private Press 1.5.0
Manual installation required from 1.4.1 or earlier. Download the latest DMG, quit Private Press, open the DMG, and drag Private Press to Applications, replacing the existing app. Then launch Private Press from Applications. Your settings, collection data, Keychain entries, and backups stay in place.
Apple Music Scans and Artwork
- Cancel while waiting for the library, retry failed scans, and verify the saved artwork bytes before reporting sync success.
Artwork and Metadata Editing
- Better preservation of existing tags and additional embedded images across MP3, M4A, FLAC, and AIFF, with stronger handling of older, malformed, and oversized tags.
Backups and Restores
- Automatic cleanup removes only eligible backups recorded by Private Press. Albums show restore status, with artwork controls locked until restoration settles.
Update Installation and Recovery
- Signed update announcements and downloads, stricter version and build checks, and recovery from interrupted installs.
License Continuity and Credit Handling
- Preserve existing activation credentials across updates and rollback, validate signed grants against the license and Mac, and improve credit reservation and recovery across pressing workflows.
Free Audio Identification
- Unlicensed audio identification uses a random identifier kept in this Mac’s Keychain instead of one derived from its hardware.
