Private Press 1.6.1
Manual installation required from 1.4.1 or earlier. The older app's “Update Now” cannot install this release because its updater has a defect. Download the latest DMG, quit Private Press, open the DMG, and drag Private Press to Applications, replacing the existing app. Then launch Private Press from Applications. Your settings, collection data, Keychain entries, and backups stay in place.
Artwork and metadata edits
- M4A artwork updates now stream the metadata rewrite, reducing memory use for that write without changing the file's audio.
- Local and downloaded artwork is checked against size and image limits before use. A badge shows when a local image was downsized.
- FLAC edits preserve slash-style track and disc totals, such as 2/12 and 1/2.
Pressing and restore reliability
- Restore Original can locate eligible recorded original backups after an ordinary file relabel.
- Batch pressing handles the Mac's memory-pressure callback safely, avoiding the unexpected quit caused by that callback race.
Privacy setup stays up to date
- Returning to Private Press now recognizes newly synchronized privacy setup more reliably.
