Private Press 1.6.2
Manual installation required from 1.4.1 or earlier. The older app's “Update Now” cannot install this release because its updater has a defect. Download the latest DMG, quit Private Press, open the DMG, and drag Private Press to Applications, replacing the existing app. Then launch Private Press from Applications. Your settings, collection data, Keychain entries, and backups stay in place.
Safer edits and exports
- If a FLAC file has multiple filled track or disc number fields, an affected numbering edit now stops instead of silently dropping a duplicate value.
- Automatic artwork changes now check match quality and recorded acceptance before writing. Uncertain matches remain available for review and manual choice.
- State export now stops when multiple scanned albums share an identity but have separate saved state, rather than silently leaving data out.
Restore and file preservation
- After certain interrupted restores, Private Press can recognize a safely recovered original file and resume the requested restore.
- File replacements and original backups preserve the source file's access-control rules, including rules inherited from folders.
