Private Press 1.6.3
Private Press 1.6.3 improves large-file pressing, artwork searches and metadata accuracy.
Manual installation required from 1.4.1 or earlier. The older app's “Update Now” cannot install this release because its updater has a defect. Download the latest DMG, quit Private Press, open the DMG, and drag Private Press to Applications, replacing the existing app. Then launch Private Press from Applications. Your settings, collection data, Keychain entries, and backups stay in place.
- Lower memory use for large files: Reduces temporary memory use while checking large files, staging updates and copying backups across volumes.
- More reliable artwork searches: New searches retain alternatives from different providers and keep distinct editions available for review. Compilation matches need agreeing year or track-count evidence before automatic selection.
- More accurate artwork details: Artwork details record the dimensions of the image actually written. Browse no longer guesses the size of candidate artwork.
- More reliable M4A tag edits: Fixes a case where newly added tags in M4A files could be hidden.
